THE MAJORITY OF THE lag new Marine trainees who reported to the Navy V-12 Unit this term have seen active service in the Pacific area. Many of them have taken part in the historic assaults on Guadalcanal, Bougainville, New Guinea, the Solomons, the Marshalls, Cape "Gloucester, Guam, the Marianas, and Saipan. Two have been stationed at Dutch Harbor, Alaska. The field of action covered by these men, therefore, comprises a sizable segment of the globe from Alaska down to Australia and New Zealand in the south and as far east as the Panama Canal Zone.
