We regret the necessity of announcing the death of Mrs. Martyn, which occurred February 1, of congestion of the lungs following an attack of laryngitis. For thirty months she had been confined to her bed, during all of which time she had borne up cheerfully, as evidenced whenever your secretary called. For almost forty years she had been a faithful and helpful wife to our classmate, who seems to be holding up well, although he has been under a great strain for the last few years. As Mary Angelica Parker of Rutland before her marriage, she was prominent then as later in the musical circles of that city and vicinity. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and neighbors. Our sympathy goes to Dr. Martyn and their son Stephen.

A call on Harry Metcalf at Newport, N. H., in late January found him recovering from a recent illness. He was head over heels in work at his editorial headquarters o£ the noted Newport Argus-Champion.

Our president is very modest about his elevation to the position of "Chairman of the Board" of the John Hancock Life Insurance Cos. Your secretary has not been able to acquire the newspaper notices about his promotion, but friends advise of fine tributes which were paid Guy. We will make every effort to possess clippings of them for our class files.

Mrs. Aborn suffered a thrombosis last November 23 and has been in not too good shape since that time; but she seems to be slowly recovering.
