With deep sorrow we report the death of another of our classmates. Bill Mackoff died February 22, 1945, of wounds received in the battle of Iwo Jima.

Recker Recke is now at Percy Jones Hospital in Battle Creek, Mich., as an occupational advisor to one hundred or so men; quite a little task. He's planning to take the final step on April 28. Also would like to hear from Clucas, Marion, McClaughry, Revenaugh, at al Johnny Dingwall is overseas for the second time as a pilot; he also recently became a proud father Bill Cary is a flight officer now and when last heard of was training at Panama City, Fla., as a B-24 pilot John Stephenson is overseas. Bill McElnea has departed for further duty in the Pacific

Seen recently at the Biltmore: Nick Daukas, looking as inconspicuous as ever, now at N. Y. U. Med. Nick was waiting for Bill Duffy, who is at the Merchant Marine Academy on Long Island. Also seen were Fritz Hier who was on a short leave from Florida, and Charlie Martus and wife. Charlie is a bombardier or a navigator, or both, and was jjust about due to report back to Texas.

Rog Antaya is teaching and coaching at Peekskill Military Academy Bill Orr is an ensign on an LCI in the Pacific Wilbur Johnson is a pilot in a fighter squadron in the European theatre Len Kokins is copilot on a B-17 in the Bth Air Force and has been awarded the Air Medal and an Oak Leaf Cluster..... Y Cliff Baum sends a snapshot of himself and Art Scharf holding up a shellpierced Nazi flag with the Mediterranean as a backdrop. Cliff states that Art ran through a hail of snipers' bullets at Toulon to snag it. Cliff is back in the country and stationed at Melville, R. I.

Through the hearty cooperation of Col. H. L. Smith USMC, chief of staff at Parris Island, Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Blood were able to establish, with Marine help, a drinking fountain with a plate suitably inscribed as a memorial to their Gallant son, Lt. Rog Blood, who was killed in action on Eniwetok Island February 17, 1944. Roe took his boot training at Parris Island and served as a drill instructor there before he became an officer.

Word via Charlie Regan has it that Taylor Pratt was recently married, further details including the name of his bride eluding me at the moment. The list of announced engagements this month is truly quite imposing: Dick Allenby is to wed Tulie Zischke of Highland Park, Ill. Dick is now stationed at Fort Monmouth, N. J., having completed studies at M.I.T. Ensign Hank Best, now stationed at Quonset, R. 1., is engaged to Virginia Brunnckow of Providence and Colby Junior.
