With sadness we learned just recently of the death of Lt. Dick Dargie who was killed in action in southern France on July 12, 1944.

Bill Craig was recently awarded a battlefield promotion from Technical Sergeant to Second Lieutenant. A few excerpts from the letter Bill's father received from the commanding general follow, "On numerous occasions his resourcefulness, and initiative enabled him to obtain valuable information from Prisoners of War after other interrogaters were unsuccessful. His ability to speak German fluently and his keen knowledge of interrogation work has helped immensely in obtaining information so vitally necessary to the success of our operations. His performance under the trying conditions of combat has been superior." Congratulations, Bill!

In April a gathering of most of the '42s, '43s, '44s and '4ss who are located in and about New York, mainly Med students, was held at the Dartmouth Club. After a buffet dinner we were entertained by such top attractions as Nick Daukas' and Dave Merrill's inimitable renditions of favorite ditties, Brad Long's accordion, and as a special feature, an arm-wrestling match between Nick and Pete Bixby. Among some of the non-medics there were "Tank" Bruce, working for an advertising firm in the city, Bob Allen in a bond house on Wall Street, and Mac Corner working as an engineer.
