THE REV. JOHN W. SLINEY, friend and spiritual adviser to Dartmouth men for 27 years, left Hanover on June 22 to assume the pastorate of St. Joseph's in Laconia, N. H. His brother, the Rev. Francis David Sliney, succeeded Father Sliney at his former pastorate, St. Denis Roman Catholic Church. He came to Hanover from Peterboro, N. H. At Laconia, Father Sliney administers to the needs of a parish four times as large as that he had in Hanover and directs as well a school of 300 children and a convent of sisters. A graduate of St. Anselm's, like his brother, Father Francis Sliney served churches in Concord, Manchester and Hinsdale in New Hampshire before going to Peterboro in 1943.
