Lt. F. Lupton White USNR, according to word recently- received from his father, is stationed in Osaka. Lup entered the service in 1942, was in the Third Naval District until early in 1944 when he was sent to the U. S. Naval Training School in Miami. He was then detailed to transport duty in the Pacific. Last winter he returned to this country and was assigned to the University of Michigan to take a special course preparing him for occupation duty in Japan. He was sent to Tokyo in September and from there went to Osaka.

We are indebted to Dr. W. H. Drake, Secretary of the Class of 1914, for news of Lt.Paul Cleaves. Paul went into the Army in July, 1943, and after basic training, took a special course in personnel at Washington and Jefferson. He was then engaged in survey work with the Fourth Service Command for a time and went from there to OCS, New Orleans Transportation School. He subsequently served in Baltimore and Seattle, and then on the U.S.S. Kenton. He is currently serving on an Army transport, shuttling between Japanese and West Coast ports. Before the war Paul was an instructor in English at Weymouth, Mass., High School. His wife, Barbara, and son Philip, three, are living in Weymouth.

Lt. Ford Marde'n USNR is now on terminal leave. Ford spent a few days in Hanover early in December preparatory to his return here in January. When he gets back he will be associated with the Trumbull-Nelson Company.

Roger Kafka, editor of Sea Power, is currently working on a revision of Warships ofthe World, of which he is co-author with Roy L. Pepperburg. The new edition will be published in 1946 by the Cornell Maritime Press.

Lt. John F. Donovan, of the Personnel Division at the Los Angeles Port of Embarkation, has been promoted to first lieutenant. John was principal of the Newburyport High School, Newburyport, Mass., prior to his entry into the service.

Douglas W. Alden is teaching in the Department of Modern Languages at Princeton George J. Mundt is teaching at Colgate.

H. Frank Gump 3rd, is senior industrial engineer with TWA, with headquarters in Kansas City.
