As FEATURES of this October issue, opening . our 39th year of publication, we present an interview with Stearns Morse, new Dean of Freshmen: a first-hand account by an alumnus of the Atom Bomb tests at Bikini; and, as a continuation of the So Little Time series, a two-fold discussion of the question of whether we are headed for another "boom and bust."
The interview with Dean Morse, written by Mel Wax '4O and entitled Yankee Counselor, will be found on Page 13. Operation Crossroads, written by Bill Mitchel '42, who served as Naval radio officer on the press ship USSAppalachian, starts on Page 15 and includes two striking photographs which he provided. The "Boom and Bust" articles have been contributed by two of Dartmouth's top-ranking economists, Prof. Bruce W. Knight and Prof. James F. Cusick, and begin on Page 20.
With this issue, Charles Clucas '44, firststring tackle on the current Big Green eleven, takes over as Undergraduate Editor. His first installment of The Undergraduate Chair is on Page 18.
