The secretary has been informed by the College authorities that our sixtieth anniversary is assigned for Commencement week, June 1947. This will undoubtedly be most satisfactory to all of us. Let us all do our utmost to be present and urge others to do so.

We have word from Winn of the important place he has won in the civic life of Redlands, Calif. While he has not been a candidate for public office, his service to the community has been of great value. He expresses an ambition to some day become the oldest living graduate of the College. Because Dr. Gilman attained this distinction, and lived to be 105 years old, Winn seems to feel his residence in Redlands justifies his ambition.

Letters received from "Jigger" Merrill, and Winifred Ross possess unusual interest, the former because he is our eldest (and consequently our "Dean") and is in the best of health. Ross is exceedingly busy on a very important project (and it is secret) which is some day to reflect great glory on the class. The secretary has delivered two addresses before the Lions' and Rotary clubs of Woodsville. The subject of his newest lecture is "the Triumph of Optimism."
