Jess B. Hawley '09, who produced Dartmouth's national championship eleven of 1925 and served as head football coach for six seasons, 1923-28, died at Orange General Hospital in Orlando, Florida, on March 21. Word has reached the MAGAZINE too late for more than this brief announcement, and next month's issue will carry a full story on the death of one of the College's outstanding alumni and a figure of lasting fame both in Dartmouth athletics and in the history of American football.
