IN ADDITION TO THE FOUR new faculty members previously announced, five other newcomers have joined the Dartmouth teaching staff. Raymond H. Lounsbury, a Wesleyan graduate now on leave from Russell Sage College, is Assistant Professor of Economics for the present term. Dr. O. Sherwin Staples of Boston, a Harvard graduate and recent officer in the Army Medical Corps, has joined the Medical School faculty as Instructor in Orthopedic Surgery. Lt. Henry J. McMahon, USNR, of Somerville, Mass., a Boston College graduate, is a new Instructor in Naval Science and Tactics; and Lt. (jg) Robert G. Young Jr., USNR, of Belmont, Mass., a graduate of Northeastern University, is instructor in Naval Science and Tactics.

Professor J. Albert Wood comes to the Thayer School as Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering on April 1 from M.1.T., where he has been Assistant Director of the Radar School since 1942. He received his degree of Electrical Engineer at Cornell in 1928, his M.S. in Physics from the University of Rochester in 1929, and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell in 1935. He has been on the faculty of M.I.T. since 1935.
