Ceorge W. Hilton '46 is the author of a well illustrated article Tennessee Central in the January issue of Trains.

A Pictorial Record of the Combat Duty of Patrol Bombing Squadron One Hundred Nine in the Western Pacific, 20 April 1945-15 August 1945, has been prepared by Lt. Theodore M. Steele '35. This volume of almost 70 pages is published by the General Offset Cos.Inc. New York 13 and is composed very largely of photographs with descriptions regarding them. Any man interested in the history of the war in the Pacific will certainly find this book of value and interest.

While You Were Gone, edited by Jack Goodman, contains a chapter by Charles Hurd and Charles Bolte '41 entitled How WePlanned for the Veterans' Return.

William H. Timbers '37 is the author of an article Protrusion of Bolt through RunningBoard of Locomotive Not Violation of Federal Boiler Inspection Act, which appeared in the September issue of the The Bulletin (published by the Association of Railway Claim Agents).

The April issue of Town and Country contains an article Underground on Skis by Leonard Woods '42.

The March 30th issue of the Saturday Evening Post contains an article by Budd Schulberg '36 entitled Nazi Pin-Up Girl.

Thomas Tupper and His Descendants, by Franklin Whittlesey Tupper of Hollywood, California, has been published by the Tupper Family Association of America. This volume of 71 pages has been edited and compiled by William Carroll Hill '02 of the New England Historic Genealogical Society. Those interested in genealogies of New England families will undoubtedly find this little volume of interest and value.

The Mendelssohn, a story by Scott Morton '26, appears in the April issue of the AmericanMercury.

Father Theodore V. Purcell, S.J. '33, is the author of A Closed Book Opened, which ap- pears in the April issue of Catholic Digest.

Oil the Evolution of an Industry by C. F. McGoughran '20, an illustrated pamphlet of 24 pages, has been published by the SinclairRefining Company. This pamphlet contains a picture of George H. Bissell of the class of 1845, and considerable information about him. Bissell was a well-known pioneer in the oil industry.

Sidney A. Diamond '35 is the author of the following articles: This Business of Backgrounds, in Popular Photography for April; How to Shoot a Baby, in the February issue of Mechanix Illustrated; and Federal Jurisdiction to Decide Moot Cases in the Universityof Pennsylvania Law Review for January.
