The first post-war gathering of the Hartford Convention, a clan of pre-war Hanoverians, occurred almost by accident on Sunday, March 17, at the home of Elsom Eldridge '37 in Nashua, N. H.

Besides the host, who has pleaded urgent business in Alaska in excuse of his recalcitrance in attending previous gatherings and now is rector of the Nashua parish, the following were present.

John Carey Reardon '36, of the Lawrence, Mass., bar (he didn't specify which one); Mike Sullivan '38 combining addresses like Lawrence, Boston State House, and various European beachheads which involved more Silver Stars than were visible on Iwo Jima; Ben Marion '37, of Boston (sometime expert in submarines and other undercurrent activities of Uncle); Roger Barney '37, blowing in late from the Navy, complete with one wife and two bairns, en route to his new parish in Ashland; and last but never least (in word or deed), John V. Kelleher '39, late of the Army of the U. S. and now again of Harvard Yard.

Notably absent were Phil Hastings '35, who was not quite a civilian, and Dick Newman '37, who was reputed to be enjoying a delayed honeymoon in Buffalo.

A characteristically detailed and hairraising account of the Newman wedding, in the summer of '43, was given by Reardon, who was best man; various war-time experiences were exchanged; and an excellent supper was served by Betty Eldridge. The gathering broke up as Kelleher issued invitations all around to attend the weekly convocation of the Harvard Society of Fellows. The Society will be relieved to hear that no vote was taken on this, however.
