THE DARTMOUTH CLUB of Washington, D. C., held its first big postwar gathering, an International Night Dinner, at the Hotel Statler, Congressional Room, March 16, with 125 Dartmouth men and guests present.

Among the honor guests were the three speakers, Prof. John Pelenyi of the Dartmouth faculty, former Hungarian Minister to the United States,Maj. Gen. Willard S. Paul '16, Assistant Chief of Staff G-1, and Basil nor '12, National Chairman, American Red Cross. Other guests of honor were leaders of several college clubs in Washington: John Pratt, vice president, Harvard; A. Wilbur Mace, president, Yale: Ralph Graves, president, Cornell; Neville Miller, president, Princeton, and trustee of that University; and Dr. Hobart Corning, new Superintendent of Schools, Washington.

Harold S. Fitts '23, club president, presided. Percy H. Russell Jr. '29 headed the dinner committee which included Lawrence C. Reeves '33, Lt. Comdr. Osmun Skinner '28 and Donald P. Cole '19.

The program included string music during the cocktail hour and dinner, and Dartmouth songs by a quartet composed of Charles S. Grant '39, Joseph F. Huber '40, Ist Lt. Richard H. Lee, Cornell '41, and Millard Beall.
