Tennis and Track Teams Open Schedules Promisingly; Lacrosse-men Have Fair Results; Baseball Showing Poor

THE SPRING SEASON has been marked to date with considerable disappointment, particularly in baseball, where the club has not been as successful as everyone hoped. With the exception o£ a dazzling 1-0 triumph over Harvard on May 18, the team had been unable to combine effective pitching and timely hitting with any consistency. The track team has shown unexpected strength, particularly in the hurdles, and has turned in some very creditable individual and collective performances. Even with its two spectacular Indian operatives, the lacrosse team has lost more close ones than Tommy Dent likes to remember, while the tennis team started out brilliantly and then stepped into some very fast company.
