Our 35th Reunion held in our 36th year after graduation brought forth a sizeable group of Tenners, wives and offspring to have the joys of Hanover and one another's company on July 5, 6, 7 .... it was a Reunion to remember .... staged away from the artificialities of a cock-eyed w0r1d.... and one which will bring a goodly attendance to our 40th only 4 years hence—in 1950.

Present were these Tenners with their wives as listed by the Reunion Committee Art Allen, Larry Bankart (plus daughter Betsy), Sid Bull, Brown Cooper (10-year-old son), Norton Cushman, Gay Gleason (Noel and Ed), Dick Hursh, Else Jenness, Irv Jewett, Art Lord, Jim Lowell, Cliff Lyon, Jim MacPherson, Russ Meredith, Harry Mitchell (Harry Jr.) Walter Norton (Nancy), Beezle Parker, Harold Robinson, Harry Sandberg (son Herbert), Andy Scarlett, Leo Sherman, Nate Sherman (daughter), Hal Sprague, Ralph Taylor, Bill Taylor, Harold Washburn, Jess Wilson, Wayland Wood, Herb Woods, Caesar Young.

Chan Baxter had his nephew with him .... Bill Moe his daughter who works in Gordon Bill's office, .... Earl Nelson and his nephew .... Obbie Coleman with daughter and granddaughter..... Dixi Crosby and sister.

Singles were Fletch Burton, Whit Eastman, Charlie Fay, Hap Hinman, Pineo Jackson, Dave Johnson, Bones Jones, Ed Loveland, Lenny McClintock, Slip Powers, Ray Seymour, Ed Shattuck, Clarke Tobin, George Underwood, John VanderPyl, Herb Wolff, Don Bryant, Ralph Paine, Jack Dingle.

The highlights were John Dickey's able talk at the Alumni Meeting, the Dickey's reception, our Class Luncheon at the Outing Club, the Class Meeting and continued sitting around and visiting on the Woodward premises which were, undoubtedly, one of the best locations we ever had.

THE CLASS MEETING

1910 class meetings in past years may have been more robust in their quality but few have been more genuinely satisfying to the gathered brethren as they filled the rear seats of 103 Carpenter .... reports and new business presented interestingly held the crowd considerably longer than such affairs last.

Immediately upon the meeting being called to order by the Chairman-Secretary, the Rev. Bill Moe, a delightful fellow in himself, read the following list of classmates who have preceded us into The Great Beyond since 1940 .... after which he offered a brief prayer:

Ferdinand D. Armstrong, Jerome B. Badgeley, Joseph Bartlett, Hoitt N. Charlton, John Clough, Daniel D. Craft, Raymond F. Cutler, Joseph J. Davidson, Roger B. Farwell, Phillip M. Forristall, Allan P. Fowler, Harold I. Goodere, Arnold S. Hatch, Ralph W. Hedges, Charles F. Hitchcock, John W. F. Hobbs, Ralph B. Jones, Newell C. Maynard, Francis M. Morrissey, Harold M. Prescott, Allen P. Salmon, George C. Sinclair, Ernest G. Small, Mark A. Smith, Wayne D. Steward, Robert H. Stone, Russell T. Williams.

A brief report was made by the Secretary, followed by Treasurer Fletcher Burton revealing financial magic in creating the very respectable treasury balance of .$1,474.55 as of June 1, 1946 with all bills paid .... thus giving us a wholesome Reunion without the hat being passed.... it was a remarkable performance by a remarkable Treasurer.

lgio's revered Class Agent, Andy Scarlett submitted his Report showing total 1946 collections of $6,980, to make an all-time total of $107474.05 which we have given to the College, a very commendable sum in itself

Andy was handicapped in this year's campaign by a hard teaching assignment in the G. I. College at Biarritz.... home in mid-winter, tired, low in weight, he plunged into his College work.... and still did a fine job with the Fund.

Next on the agenda was Whitney Eastman's Report of his Class Memorial Fund progress .... off to a late start, Easty picked up the reins in November, sent out a letter with some personal followups, raised the surprising total of $2,875 in cash plus some interesting pledges before the campaign ended on Dec. 31 Easty makes an ideal man for that work and through a lifetime of experience in raising successful funds for civic and school enterprises he knows the "hows and whys" •• •. an appreciative Class has much confidence in him.

Else Jenness, who with Charlie Fay and Bones Jones did a most commendable job in handling the Reunion, summed up the results briefly. Finances would probably even up .... each lady received a pair of Clarke Tobin's Nylons .... several men had sent in their regrets .... 97 attended the Outing Club luncheon where Miss Gill did a truly fine accomplishment in serving delicious food, efficiently and amply.

It was voted to continue the ALUMNI MAGAZINE Group Subscription Plan for the ensuing four years (we reune again in 1950).

Creation and eventual disposal of the Class Memorial Fund evoked general discussion and a legalistic skirmish in which Att'y D. Johnson of Cleveland took to task fellow barristers, L. Powers, Boston and R. Seymour, N. Y., "You fellows don't know law" .... while under the spell of Johnsonian forensic charm, the Class did pass the following Powers resolution:

"Voted that the Chairman-Secretary appoint a committee of not less than three nor more than five members of which the Chairman-Secretary shall be one, to act as nominees of the Class of 1910 to dispose of the 1910 Memorial Fund, contributions to which shall be delivered to the Treasurer of Dartmouth College, the income to be used by the College and credited to the annual contributions of the Class to the Alumni Fund, until such time, not later than July 1, i960, when said nominees shall notify the Treasurer of Dartmouth College as to the disposition of the principal of said fund, either as principal or income, for the benefit of Dartmouth College, which notice shall only be given by instructions from a majority of the Class present at the 40th, 45th or 50th reunions."

Whitney Eastman, chairman of the Nominating Committee comprised of himself, Chan Baxter and Norton Cushman, presented the following slate of officers who were duly elected:

Chairman-Secretary, Harold P. Hinman; Treasurer, Fletcher P. Burton; Executive Committee, Leslie A. Bull, Hazen Jones, George L. McClintock, James E. MacPherson, Herbert A. Wolff, Herbert A. Woods, Francis Worcester.

Immediately after adjournment of the Class Meeting, the Executive Committee met and appointed Andrew J. Scarlett Class Agent.

It also voted to continue the annual class dues of $5.00.

The Chairman-Secretary appointed the following Class Memorial Fund CommitteeChairman, Whitney H. Eastman, David L. Johnson, Leland Powers, Clarke W. Tobinwith himself serving by provision of the vote.

MISCELLANY:—The accompanying Class picture brings you up to date on average 1910 pulchritude Winsor Wilkinson deserves much credit for his thoughtfulness in sending colored movies of last reunion Howard Bushway's specially made frozen pudding created a big hit, both at Outing Club luncheon and Saturday evening at Woodward .... it was a generous gift. .... Bucky Allen's boys' camp opening kept him away The Doc Fosters were in San Francisco .... as was Thayer Smith Family illness prevented Micky Holmes and Frank Meleney from attending Wid Washburn, son of Harold, had charge of our dormitory Julius Warren was en route to his new home in Missouri...

A shortage of our new Cardigan Mountain School booklets prevented us from handing them out to several interested folks but upon receipt of a note we'll gladly have one mailed One of the marvels of the Reunion was the physical fitness of Dixi Crosby who Majored in the Artillery all through the Pacific Islands How the heck he ever did it at his age is an unexplained phenomenon.

Again.... the Reunion was enjoyment Cum Laude.... solid, quiet days of true companionship .... with perhaps the $64.00 reason for not attending the Reunion belonging to Mr. and Mrs. Heinie Barrett of Detroit: A daughter—Maria Suzanne born to them, April 30, 1946!— thereby creating some new kind of a Class Baby (Papa Barrett was born in Castleton, Vt., Sept. 24, 1888).

THIRTY-SIX YEARS AGO they were "grand old seniors''; now the Class of 1910 sits for its Delayed 35th Reunion picture.
