A three-man team of Dartmouth skiers will compete in Italy and Switzerland this spring, it was announced last month. Malcolm McLane '46, Jim Browning '44 and Ed Nickerson '49 will represent the DOC in the Italian and Swiss Intercollegiates and will ski as individuals in other European meets. They will pay their own way to and from Europe, but their expenses on the continent will be borne by the Swiss Academic Ski Club which came to Hanover in 1937 to compete in the Dartmouth Carnival.
The Green skiers will leave for Europe at the end of this semester. Browning graduates in February, and McLane and Nickerson will drop out of college for one term in order to take the trip. Because of the cost and the long absence involved, the DOC was unable to accept the invitation of the Swiss club to send over a tenman team, but McLane, Browning and Nickerson decided to represent Dartmouth on their own.
