Harris, pitching for Dartmouth, won his own game in the eighth inning of the meeting with Vanderbilt's touring nine when he connected for a solid three base blow with two men on bases. Owl's home run in the third inning began the scoring. Vanderbilt overcame this lead with bases on balls given to two batters, a long single, and a sacrifice hit the combination resulting in four runs. Dartmouth continued to score however, when in the fifth inning Picken smote a three base hit scoring Fusonie ahead of him and himself scored on the throw in from the outfield. In the eigth inning with two men out Stevens singled and advanced to second when Michelini also hit safely. Murphy, pinch hitting for .McLaughlin, filled the bases. A passed ball scored Stevens and the timely triple by Harris completed the undoing of Vanderbilt. The southern team made a brave attempt to catch up in their half- of the ninth, but were able to score but one run.
