The Dartmouth swimming team opened its season with a handy win over a strong Bowdoin aggregation in the latter's pool by the score of 43-32. Frank Bruch of the Green set a new local (Bowdoin) pool record in the breaststroke, in which win he was seconded by Tank Creamer of Dartmouth. Coach Michael's charges won the 300-yard medley relay, with Creamer, Prior, and Kay performing. Captain Jock Mclntyre won the 320-yard freestyle, with McAndrew of Dartmouth second. Dartmouth was unable to do better than a third in the 50-yard freestyle, with Blaine Boyden of the Green taking that place.

In the dive, Dan Rownd took a second, with the home forces taking first and third. Mclntyre won the 100-yard freestyle, with Gordie Kay of Dartmouth coming in third. In the backstroke, Bersch of Dartmouth came in first, followed by Creamer of the same. In the 400-yard event, Dartmouth took second and third, with Bill Duke and Spurgin finishing in that order behind a Bowdoin swimmer. Bowdoin won the 400-yard relay, after the meet was safely on ice for the Green. In view of the close call the team suffered against Bowdoin a year ago (after which it went through undefeated in dual meet competition except for Yale), things look promising for another good season this year.

HOW DID I DO? Jock Mclntyre, captain of Dartmouth's strong swimming team, checks his time with Coach Karl Michael '29. Mclntyre, freestyle ace, won the 100 and 220 in the opening Bowdoin meet.
