Once again as your class secretary we had the very great pleasure of attending the Secretaries Meeting in Hanover. Here we enjoyed all that Hanover and the College has to offer in the delightful month of May. Such contacts with the College, the Administration and faculty representatives, and our association with other Secretaries, all give us hearty inspiration to carry on. It is a privilege to attend these meetings and we thank you for the opportunity.
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has paid a well deserved tribute to our classmate, Stan Qua, in appointing him to the position of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and our congratulations are extended to Stan, and also to the State in recognizing his ability, and his many years of service in the lower courts.
Jim Clark announces the marriage of his daughter Margaret Louise to Mr. Richard Clayton Helyar on Saturday, July 5, 1947, at West Brattleboro, Vermont.
Beth, Mary Lib and Steve Stevens had the very great pleasure of a happy week-end with the Charlie Howes in Richmond recently. We were entertained with typical Virginia hospitality, and the Reunion of 1946 was lived over again, with memories of that good time. Saturday evening, Charlie and Steve, attended the Virginia Alumni Association gathering at "Wyndmere" Douglas Vanderhoof's beautiful home, where he annually entertains this small but loyal group of Dartmouth Alumni. Van and Nancy are ideal hosts and it certainly was a most enjoyable occasion.
Gene Leach has retired as Judge of Probate of Merrimack County, after serving 23 years, having been appointed in 1924 by Gov. FredBrown. He has served continuously and has never missed a regular court session because of sickness. Gene will maintain his law office in Franklin, New Hampshire, and carry on the several lines of business and charities in which he has been interested.
We find the following members of the class have been registered at the Hanover Inn the past month, Arthur Redman and his wife from Seattle, and Frank and Elsie Cudworth.
Johnnie Ward as Class Agent has hung up another grand record for 1901, and we certainly owe Johnnie a great big "thank-you" for the fine showing he has made, and for his continuing untiring efforts.
Paul Burleigh has retired from the General Electric Company after many years of service. He has been honored with dinners, trophies, testimonials, and many expressions of appreciation, both by G. E., and various business organizations with which he has dealt. It certainly is gratifying to note that loyalty, ability and years of faithful service are appreciated.
There seems to be quite a lot of interest in an interim reunion, perhaps in 1948, many of the class have expressed the feeling that it is too long to wait until 1951. Suggestions as to such a reunion, where and when will be gladly received.
WHO IS IT? For the correct identification of this dapper member of 1901, photographed in Paris many years ago, the class secretary offers a prize.
Secretary and Treasurer, EVERETT M. STEVENS 1371 ; , Washington, D. C.
