According to Class Head Agent Steve Dietz, it's that time of year again. The 1980 Dartmouth Alumni Fund needs each and every one of us to give. All gifts are important, both small and large. This year, 74's goals are $17,000 with 65 per cent participation, while the College hopes to raise $6.6 million with 66 per cent participation. Incidentally, our class dollar goal will establish a new "years out" record, while the College participation goal should reestablish Dartmouth alumni as the most willing to give a category in which Williams surpassed us last year. I realize all of this has been said many times before (and doubtless will continue to be), but Dartmouth does need our help, so reach down for a little bit extra this year.

There are a number of classmates helping Steve out this year. Many of you will hear from them during the drive. Area agents are SteveLarmon in the Northeast, Steve Severson in the Mid-Atlantic States, Candy Ingals in Washington, D.C., and the South, BruceWilliamson in the Midwest, and, in the West, Bob Molinari. Also, there are four special class agents Tom Treadwell, Tom Eggleston, Ken Marable, and Rick Woolworth. They will be working with our head agent to maximize donations. I have taken the job of participation chair and will gratefully accept assistance or bright ideas from anyone!

A large part of this month's news comes from Steve Dietz as the result of recruiting class agents. Steve plans to be married on April 12 and, frankly, you've got to be impressed by a guy who will take on the legal profession, the job of head agent, and a wife simultaneously! Best of luck, Steve!

Candy Ingals is making her mark as an antitrust lawyer in Washington, D.C. Bob Molinari is enjoying life on the West Coast, especially sailing, after finishing Tuck. Ken Marable is reportedly keeping himself occupied fixing up his brownstone in Brooklyn.

Steve Severson reported that Wharton B School is keeping him quite busy. Of course, the fact that wife Martha is expecting their first child in mid-May does help to maintain the level of excitement. Steve does complain, however, that having an unborn child of "unknown gender" makes it a bit hard to select the right clothing, sports cars, and so on. On the serious side, he is considering pursuing a doctorate, and perhaps a career, in management consulting. Martha continues her doctoral studies at the University of Pennsylvania in the educational leadership program in higher education in plain English, college administration.

Steve added that Jim Felter is finishing up at Wharton and is figuring out where to work upon graduation. Doug Peabody is also among the Philadelphia crowd, practicing law.

Mary Donovan asked me to inform BuffDavis that she has a wonderful picture of both of them waltzing at the reunion and that she wants to send it to him. Mary, my most recent address for Buff will be in the mail. Incidentally, anyone who needs an address can contact me (or the Alumni Records Office). Phone calls are fine at reasonable hours (those of you on Pacific Time, please be careful). But if you write, please enclose a stamped card. Another issue is classmates who have been "lost," those from whom mail has been returned. I would ask anyone who moves to write either to me or the Alumni Records Office in Hanover so your address will be updated. I hate to think of anyone missing a month of this "immortal prose"! Also, names of classmates who have "dropped out of sight" will be forwarded to Tom Guidi for inclusion in the newsletter under the "Miguel Cardona, Where Are You???" column. (Gotcha, Miguel). Seriously, keeping in touch with classmates is an important matter, and I invite anyone with knowledge of another classmate's new address to give us the word.

As many of you may have gathered by this point, there was virtually nothing in the old mailbox this month. I invite everyone to write if you're shy, tell me about someone else, especially those classmates whom we have not heard from in some time. Till next month.
