Now to get going again where we left off in June. Hope you all had a good summer, and since last reporting to you there have been quite a few things happening to a lot of you. Wish our coverage could be more complete, but here goes on what we have.

First off—an accolade to each of you for helping to put '4l at the top of the heap in our group in the Alumni Fund Drive. It's taken six years to do it, and each year we have been hanging around the top only to be disappointed after the final results were tabulated. It is very fitting we made it this year, and just reward for Lew Johnstone who has devoted so much time and effort on behalf of the class. Lew would be the last to claim any credit for the class success, but all the rest of us have a different idea on that subject.

George Canfield, vacationing in Canada, stopped in Hanover to look the old stamping grounds over again. While in the vicinity he zipped over to Lebanon to say hello to DonTaber. Don passes on the word that there isn't a room to be had in Hanover, Lebanon, White River and Lyme, for the weekend of the Pennsylvania game. Hope all of you planning to attend have a new Nash in which to sleep.

Hank Frechette is back in New Hampshire again. We last had him tagged in Cleveland. How about a note, Hank, to let us catch up with you?

Vacation time proved an excellent opportunity for a lot o£ '4l's to get together. Fr'instance Bruce Friedlich and Danny Provost. with their respective families took a house together in Bayhead, N. J., for the month of June. Frequent visitors seen at their summer hideout included the Bob Teppers, and the Harry Doutys. Harry, married June 12, is now more affectionately known as the squire of Redbank.

"Perc" Holloway, wife Ann, and young son Chap, took life easy for a while at Cape May, N. J., and inform us that their anticipated move to a new home on Long Island should be completed sometime this month.

Pete Scott was the bearer of good tidings informing us that "Bud" Bye was married June 7th in Washington, D. C. to Helen Sudol of Lowell, Mass. Bud is now with Jersey Bell Telephone Cos. in Camden, N. J. Pete is another telephone man living in Arlington, Virginia, and working for the Chesapeake and Potomac Company.

Another pleasant summer surprise was the arrival of Dutch Cotton's class directory. That little book is something we all welcome, and can certainly use—so the thanks of the class to you, Dutch, for a very nice job. I initiated mine at the Charlotte, N. C., airport calling Larry Norton during a stopover. Unfortunately he wasn't around. Still at the Barringer, Larry?

A couple of guys whose skiing at Dartmouth left nothing to be desired decided to join the ever swelling benedict ranks. "Spiff" Little was married in June to Miss Nancy Ann Baylor of Lincoln, Nebraska. "Spiff" had been doing graduate work at the University of Montreal, but after the wedding he and "Mrs. Spiff" settled down in a new home in Hanover.

On May 30th Charlie McLane's engagement was announced to Miss Carol Evarts of New York. Have received no definite dope as to wedding plans, but do know that Charlie presently is studying at the Russian Institute at Columbia University.

Another engagement announcement—and this is belated reporting, but the information has just recently come to my attention concerns Bill English. On May 10th his engagement was announced to Miss Genevieve Bulger of Waterbury, Connecticut. Bill was a Captain in the AAF during the war, and also graduated from M.I.T. in 1943.

The Burt Hedin's first child, daughter Cheryl, arrived on May 2nd and the thing that kept the Stillmans home most of the summer was the birth of Alicia on June 25th—also their first youngster.

A note from George Simpson with the information that, as of September 15, he is back in New York and will be at Cornell Med. School, and another one I can just squeeze in is the announcement August 11 of the engagement of "line" Richardson to Mrs. Margaret Kent Albach. A fall wedding is planned, but other than that I have no definite information.

And that about covers things for this month. Am scribbling this from Chicago, so next time will try to bring together all the loose ends on the Middlewestern contingent.

Another football season is here again so undoubtedly there will be a gang of '4l's around and about. Hope you will all drop a line my way so that we can keep up to date on the fellows you see and chat with. So long for now.
