The Orange Disc, a. publication of the Gulf Oil Corporation, prints in its September- October, 1946, issue a fine tribute to PatHathaway, who was Assistant to the President when he died on October 7. Walter Nesmith's wife died on February 9 after a prolonged illness. Walter writes that he and his wife both taught school throughout their mature lives. Walter was principal of the Senior High School in Nashua, N. H„ for 27 years until he retired in June, 1945.
Two 'O7 men were honored by the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Boston at its Annual Dinner on February 26; Dick Lane by election to the presidency, and Harry McDevitt by re-election to the office of chorister.
A recent letter from Al White announcing that he will definitely be in Hanover for the 40th reports that Al left the Brown Shoe Co., St. Louis, Mo., a couple of years ago to enter the advertising business. Al's new firm is A. G. White & Associates, 1408 Locust St., St. Louis 3, Mo.
Herb Mitchell, '07's reunion agent for the Chicago area, makes a preliminary report that " .... you can count on two of us: BubCoombs and myself." We are confident that Herb's later reports will swell the list.
You can't keep a good man down, as the following quotations from the New York Dartmouth Club News indicate: "George Liscomb '07, recently acquired by the club in a crafty swap with the Boston club, already is on the ball. President Dickey, on his recent visit to the club, endorsed George's outline for a general reinauguration of the Hovey Hum Spring Festival by Dartmouth clubs throughout the country." ...." 'lrish' Flanigan '23 and Major Liscomb '07 headed the club's delegation to the Boston Alumni dinner February 26. Both registered at the Wheelock Tavern, a novel backstage reproduction of early days on the Hanover Plain and ideal for post dinner songsters."

Charles W. Staples, writing from Spokane, Wash., to Sam Barnes concerning '07's 40th, says that it will be impossible for him to attend.
Our British Columbian classmate, JosephA. O'Connor, LL.B., Barrister, writes from Vancouver, B. C., that it is doubtful if he will be able to return to '07's 40th. Two years ago Joe flew back to New England and during his visit called on Mr. and Mrs. "Mai" Taylor. He also reports meeting Mr. and Mrs. Cummings in Vancouver a few years ago. Presumably he means Bill and Helen, who have failed to report their visit to British Columbia. Joe has been a citizen of Canada for nearly 40 years and he promises to tell the story of his career and experiences one of these days.
