As promised last month, we will start out this column with a little first-hand information for a change—thanks to a three-week-stay in Chicago, during the course of which some '41 were seen, and something found out about a lot of them.

Old roommate Rothermel was the first encountered, and being the same good guy as always, played host for the Stillmans one of those torrid Chicago summer evenings at Skokie Country Club.

Bud and Barbara have a charming home in Glencoe—and are even now adding additional rooms to it, which pretty well occupies their spare time. And I'm indebted to Bud for the following dope concerning other classmates.

Dick Otter is now at Princeton as an assistant professor in the mathematics department. Bill Freeman is living and working in Chicago; Bill Spinney, in Waukegan; Art Cruttenden, in the advertising business in Chicago and living in Desplaines. "Cue ball" Eaton(Fred to those who still think he has hair) is a budding young executive with Sears Roebuck and is living in Hinsdale. Bud Riley is back in Winnetka, having recently come back to the States after a tour in Oslo with American Overseas Airways.

Bumped into Jim McLellan on Munroe street one day, and the transplanted New Englander seems to be taking to Chicago in a big way but still has a longing to get back Boston way. Jim and his wife had the same old trouble everyone else has had finding four walls to call home. However, he is now well settled in an apartment and is working for Bard-Parker Co., a hospital supply firm.

Dick McCornack has forsaken the windy city for his first love, Dartmouth. Dick recently received his Ph.D. at Harvard and is now back in Hanover as a member of the History department. The number of '41s settled on the Hanover plain is certainly increasing—"Snuffy" Smith, whose puss graced these pages last month, is now business manager for the DCAC, and Johnny Twist and "Spiff"Little are also around town, and I believe PhilThompson is there, too.

I practically collided with Bruce Muir one day in the Palmer House, and no time for a long chat as he was pushing to catch a plane back to Grand Rapids. Bruce is a busy boy these days helping to run the ever increasing number of Muir drug stores throughout the middlewest. He reported that the Grand Rapids trio consisting of Bruce, Bill Nelson and Tom Jack manage to get together once in a while for at least a few brews.

And now for a round of romantic stuff since last reporting to you. Miss Berelle Katz and Don Samuel were married in Septembersorry don't have the date. Coral Evarts and Charlie McLane were married September 8 in Garrison, N. Y. Tom Braden '40 served as best man, and the ushers were all "green" too in that John and Malcolm, Charlie's brothers, and Jerry Tallmer '42 all assisted the bridegroom. The engagement of Jane Lee to BillMurphy was announced on August 24, in Greenwich, Connecticut, and Margaret Herrman's engagement to Rowland Fairlee was announced also on August 24. Miss Mildred Bergstedt was married September 13 to DickHill. Dana Chase was Dick's best man. CliffStratton and Lydia Ann Georges were married August 16, and Winifred Kennedy was married to Dr. Bill Dignam on June 9. Dr. ElmerCrehan was an usher.

Ted Wachs has recently been appointed public relations director for Blue Cross. Ted assumes his new duties in New Haven, after having spent the last year and a half in Chattanooga working on the Tennessee plan, one of the most recent of the nation-wide Blue Cross plans. Before entering Blue Cross work, Ted was for five years Special Agent for the F. B. X. in New York, Baltimore, Miami, and Chattanooga.

Visitors to Hanover over the summer included George Brand, Charlie McLane, DickDeCou, Austie Baker, Clay Messenger, DickSexton, Lou Young, Dick Tously, Ed Stevens,John Beaumont, Buzz Willis, Loyd Wright, and Bob Evans.

Werner Neudorf is an instructor at Dayton High School, Dayton, Washington. Oh, and another guy I forgot who is back in Hanover is Dick Sawyer. Bill Junod is with Sun Oil in Beaumont, Texas. Jack Kelsey, a Marine Corps regular, is in the executive department at the Naval Academy. "Ollie" Gross is in Merced, California, now with Leonard Tank Lines. Freddie Lynch is now living in Long Beach, California—292 Covina Avenue to be exact. Seen him yet, d'Olive or Thompson?

Hey, you guys, how about dropping me a line?
