As OF OCTOBER 15, the 1947 fall enrollment was 2,978, the largest in the history of the College but slightly below early estimates. Last year's registration total was 2,822.
Represented in the student body are classes ranging from 1941 to 1951, with the freshman class numbering 670. In the Associated Schools 118 are enrolled in Tuck I and 80 in Tuck II; 57 in both Thayer I and Thayer II; 24 in first-year Medical School; 23 in second-year Medical School; and 30 in fifth-term Medical School.
The freshmen registered the week of September 28 and the upperclassmen on the day before Convocation, October 2. The number of non-veterans continues to rise with 1,088 or approximately 40 per cent in this category. There are 270 married students, living in Wigwam Circle, Sachem Village and South Fayerweather Hall.
