The middle of the following week, Dartmouth met a Clarkson team whose chief claim to fame consisted in having eked out a 3-2 victory over traditionally great McGill. That game was apparently in the same category as the Princeton triumph over Pennsylvania last fall, for the Clarkson skaters showed little of their alleged craft against Dartmouth. In a game played on extremely slushy ice which slowed up the play considerably, the Green practically drove a hole in the nets temporarily defended by the invaders. Bruce Cunliffe led the procession with four goals, with Jack Riley and Bruce Mather close behind with three apiece. Various other characters broke into the scoring column, with Doc Sanders (a newcomer to the Riley line) accounting for a couple of goals, and Bill Riley for a couple more. The initial scoring explosion occured within 30 seconds of the opening whistle, when Sanders drilled the puck into the visiting nets following some nice collaboration by the brothers Riley. After that came the deluge.
