ON THURSDAY, MARCH 6, the "Dartmouth Lawyers" of New York City and vicinity held their second annual dinner at the Dartmouth Club with 85 attorneys in attendance. The occasion was in commemoration of Daniel Webster's 165 th Birthday. Thurlow M. Gordon '06, Chairman of the Dartmouth Lawyers for the year 1946-1947, served as Toastmaster, and the principal address by George M. Morris '11, former President of the American Bar Association, dealt with the life of Dartmouth's prominent lawyer and statesman, Daniel Webster. Short talks were also given byBasil O'Connor '12, Chairman of the International Red Cross, and by William Minsch '07, Trustee of the College. Presentation to the Dartmouth Club by the College of a portrait of Daniel Webster was made at the dinner. Seated also at the head table were Carl M. Owen '01, Chairman-elect of the Lawyers Group for the year 1947-1948, T. Latta McCray '37, the Secretary-elect, Hon. Henry J. A. Collins '18, County Judge of Nassau County, G. Richard Carpenter '10 and Laurence W. Lougee '29, Secretary of the Dartmouth Lawyers during 1946-7. Dartmouth songs were furnished by Edgar Earle '17. Also present were:

NEW YORK DINNER The . annual dinner of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of New York will be held at the Hotel Commodore on April 16 at 6:30 p.m. John E. Moore '23, president of the Association, will preside at the dinner and President Dickey will be the principal speaker. Plans call for a top-notch program and a record turnout, so plan to be there.
