Coach Ellie Noyes' track men got in a lot of travel, considerable practice, and one meet (plus a practice one with Navy) during their own version of the spring cruise. The meet was against William and Mary and the Green won handily by the score of 87-39. The shape of things to come was suggested by some of the performances in this meet, with Ken Coyne coming through for a win in the 880-yard run over a heavy track and the victory of Les Kleist in the broad jump and his second in the high jump. Some of the most spectacular performers did not participate in this contest, with big hurdler Bill Kimball staying in Hanover to brush up on his home work and Walt Newman refraining from competition in the dashes because of continuing difficulty with a pulled tendon. While this will not be the outstanding aggregation of last year (which finished third in the outdoor IC4A), it will be a good dual meet team and a threat in several events in faster competition.
