JOSEPH F. MARSH JR. '47, of Athens, W. Va„ who received his A.B. degree on June 15, has been awarded the Class of 1926 Fellowship for the coming year. The grant will enable him to undertake an internship in the National Institute of Public Affairs in Washington. In order to accept the Class of 1926 Fellowship, again awarded for the first time since before the war, Marsh resigned the James F. Colby Memorial Fellowship which was earlier given to him.

Funds for the Class of 1926 Fellowship have been provided by an anonymous member of that class "to assist one or more undergraduates or graduates of the College annually to make a first-hand study of public affairs, including, if possible, some active participation therein. It is hoped that this study might be so planned as to increase the Fellow's subsequent active usefulness as a citizen."

Marsh, a former Lieutenant ,(jg) in the Navy, has been a member of the debating team, the Forensic Union, and the D.O.C. He majored in public administration and was a Rufus Choate Scholar. Marsh, a member of Phi Sigma Kappa, took part in the Okinawa campaign and the occupation of Japan.
