Maguire, Bullock, Young, Johnson, Mower, Woods, Bolster, Brackett, Lampee and Sexton attended the delayed five-class dinner at Schraffts on May 21, and reported another of the fine evenings which draw a greater number of our undergraduate neighbors than any of the other Dartmouth gatherings.

These men who were unable to attend sent greetings and a high percentage of them mentioned attendance in Hanover in 1949 as a definite goal: Boyle, Maynard, Doonan, Leverone, Charron, Woodbridge, Roby, Muchmore, Walker, Edgerly, Moulton, Slayton, Perry, Brewer, Nichols, Bartlett, Leddy, Uniac, Aldrich, Davis, Chase, Burdett, Mathes, Whittemore, Fletcher, Hall, Durgin, Logan, Manning, Wing, Torrey, Austin, Sewall.

On May 28 Bill Slayton spent an hour with me. He had just received Squid's notice of the annual gathering in Hanover June 18-19-20, and planned to attend but the arrival of one of his grandchildren for a weekend visit deprived us of his company. The week was a grand one for this historian and his familyNed Bartlett's daughter graduated from Smith and his son from Hill School the previous weekend and Ned made a flying visit to Hanover the 14th joining Sid and Louise Rollins for an afternoon with us in Canaan Street the 15th—Thursday the 17th Robbie, Squid, and Carl left Boston for Hanover—knowing that Edge was still crutching and would not join us in Hanover. They brought lunches from home and arrived at the Edgerly home in Manchester for a luncheon visit with Edge and Bertha—then about 4:30 they arrived on Canaan Street at about the same time our daughter Deborah arrived from Bryn Mawr for the summer. The boys went to Hanover for the evening and on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday were joined by Johnson, Bullock, Leverone, Davis, Rollins, Hinman, Austin, Webster-making a total of eleven for a real 04 reunion in South Massachusetts.

At G.O.P. Convention time Peacham sent a dipping from Spokane that "Mo" Lockwood was elected (about mid winter) President of the Dartmouth Club and was planning the club's spring program including a visit from Sid Hayward on March 17. Peacham visited "Mo's" summer camp on Preist Lake, Idaho, in 1947 also at his Spokane Club and his home in the flourishing suburb of Opportunity. All this perseverance by Peacham to extract a promise from Lockwood to join us in Hanover next June. No promise yet from "Mo"Peacham still working, and my money is on him to produce "Mo" in Hanover.

Bill Robey in a summer letter says, "I expect to have your company when we assemble at Eleazar Wheelock's resting place during our 45th year come June"—lt's a date.

Cloyd Maynard visited Ames at his farm outside Bridgton, Maine July 22—"1 found him on his porch shelling a basket of peas. He told me all about the accident and he surely had a rotten break. His left leg is gone right to the hip joint but he now has an artificial limb and he is making out very well. He walked the length of the porch and back with a cane and did a very good job of it. He tells me that he even hoes his garden and other light tasks and seems to be in very good spirits." Maynard proposed that he bring Lester to the 1949 Reunion and Ames has confirmed the plan in a letter to the Class.

Squid's steady work on the Fund secured 102% in participation and 94% in objective, with a total in the dollar column of $4175.15. Our Class rated 1 ith in participation and 34th in objective. The complete Fund report will be in this number of the MAGAZINE.

You will find Harry Ham at 16 Court Street, Boston, and Bob Mosely at 2438 N. Columbus St., Arlington, Va.

The big surprise of the summer after saying "Come in" to a knock on the door was to see Lester Gibson "coming in"—had a fine visithe brought news of Squire Perkins and Lester thought he might return next June and bring Perk along—Gibson looks well—really just as he did at our 30th reunion and wants everyone to know that a visit to Hanover is a great renewer of youth.

The summer recess is productive of much class news some of which must be kept for the November issue.
