Ted Leggett forwarded this item: Ev Snow put John Eckstorm's request for glasses, frames and cases up to his congregation and already has received "half a peck" of them.

Joe Bartlett, or more fittingly in connection with this item, Dr. Joseph W. Bartlett, as chairman of the trustees of the University of Massachusetts took a prominent part in the inauguration of Dr. Ralph A. Van Meter as president of that university on October 16.

On the day of the Dartmouth-Harvard game Jack and Eunice Spring made up a luncheon party with your secretary and Betty. Jack is still thrilled over the generous action of the class at its class meeting when sufficient additional contributions were made to meet his hope and dream of being able to report a total contribution of the class to the Alumni Fund of $50,000.

Mush Jones has informed us that the movies of the class group taken by Joan came out fine and are in technicolor. Mush and his family were planning to leave for California in November.

JOSEPH W. BARTLETT '98, (left) chairman of the University of Massachusetts board of trustees, presents the university charter at the recent inauguration of the new president, Dr. Ralph A. Van Meter. President Conant of Harvard is in the center.
