Ken Phillips, Omaha Philosopher-Huntsman, expounds his way o£ life, "I eat a lot, play a lot and do not take work seriously, having discovered the way to live 100 years if I can keep it up long enough, stay in the shade and don't worry. I manage to always keep fish and game in the deep £reeze-and can share some with you if you ever come out this way. Haven't seen a Tenner since 1940 but would be more than happy to do so."

Vic Willis, from whom we have not heard for quite some time, lives at 825 Mountain Ave., Westfield, N. J—you will recall that Vic graduated from M.I.T. after leaving us—"I have been assigned," writes Vic, "as Chief of Construction by the H. K. Ferguson Cos., Industrial Engineers and Builders, to supervise the construction of the first peace-time atomic pile and laboratories at the Brookhaven National Laboratory located at Camp Upton, Long Island—all for the Atomic Energy Commission. Ground was broken in August and completion of the $10,000,000 project is scheduled for 1948."

Johnny Finn, longtime teacher of typing and shorthand at Dickinson High School, Jersey City, expects to retire in a year or so- It would be great to have likeable Johnny with us at the 1950 Reunion—Horace Chadbourne" who was visited by Ben and Florence Williams and Noah Foss last summer, has Babb, Montana, for his new address, Babb being on the other side of the Park—BuckyAllen brags of 3 grandchildren, has his 34th season at Camp Chewonki coming up—Bucky's camp is well known and he has had sons of well known men including the RooseveltsChuck Crawford's address is 3402 No. 57th St., Milwaukee 10—Jack Bates visited Hanover in December—Bill Moe resigned from the Guildford First Congregational Church pastorate, effective Nov. 30, but on request of the church is remaining until next summer- Bill at 71 is an active man, and a very likeable one, too—Winsor Wilkinson, finally out of the Army, is working for the San Francisco Water Department, building a water supply line that will require some time—Liz Prescott was laid up awhile early in the year, is better, believes rather sanely "I am sure that we must enjoy life as much as we can."

The Second Generation— Wid Washburn, Dartmouth lineman and Prof. Harold's younger son, has been elected to Phi Beta Kappa—and so has Frank Brady, son of our own "King" whose daughters were brilliant students, too—Just in case that you are not aware of it, both of these guys have raised some very fine children—Edward Bryant has moved his family (wife and Don's 2 grandchildren) to Mobile, Alabama—Ruth West teaches school in Ohio—Al Salmon's son, Robert, is a Univ. of Maine freshman—Young Bill Tucker, D'38, who got straight A's later at M.1.T., is an engineer for a big oil cracking plant in Rotterdam, Holland—Miriam Sherman (Leo's youngest daughter) is married to Wm. McEwen, Ass't Prof, of Chemistry at Univ. of Kansas.

George Davies, Ohio State Senator, Member of Banking, Military, Public Health and Taxation Committees, saw Cap Hedges at the Michigan-Indiana game—he summers at Vergennes, Vt., has a keen interest in Dartmouth doings—Any Dartmouth man being in Wauseon would do well to look up George.

"Ken Knapp, Rochester, N. Y. City Engineer," writes our N. Y. C. special correspondent, "threw his shovel into the ditch and went to N. Y. for the Princeton Game. His battering barbershop bass set the glassware waltzing at the Dartmouth Club. So far, Ken has kept his summit below the snowline—nary a gray hair."

Ed Keith and Wife came up from Puerto Rico, spent vacation in New England, saw Penn, Brown, Harvard games, spent some time with sons in Vermont—after 31 years in the tropics they expect to leave P. R. next May, buy a home in New England and retireit will be nice to have Ed back .with us again.

Marion and I have spent several weeks in Washington this winter, enjoying our grandchildren in particular—we no longer plan too far in advance, keeping ourselves quite footloose to do largely what we want to do—in December I resigned from the town Budget and Special School Committees—but am deeply associated with Cardigan Mountain School which has some remarkably fine men in its line-up, and is doing quite all right.
