The passage of time as pictured in the mail of a Class Secretary: Word telling of old-timers-l9lO variety moving into retirement and rest homes; a fine tribute to his deceased Tenner father by his Dartmouth son, and word from Tenners telling that their grandsons will enter Dartmouth next fall. This is a word-picture which covers quite a span of years.

The retirees in mind at this point are all in New Hampshire: Bard Bardwell, PhilBrooks, and Mac Stanton. All seem to be happily located in attractive locations.

The tribute mentioned is to our Jim Kerley by one of his sons, James Jr. '43. Jim passed away in January but the College had not received the word. James Jr. tells of the deep concern his Dad had for Dartmouth - how when located in remote mining towns in Kentucky and Virginia, where our Jim, graduate of Thayer School engaged in construction projects, would travel miles to get a New York newspaper on Sunday in order to have the Dartmouth football news that was when there was no radio and no television.

A note from Beezle and Bun Parker now located further from Hanover, in Ithaca, N.Y., asks for the dates of our informal reunion in June. Burt Miller in Louisiana asks for information about the late Tenner, Kenneth Merritt who was with us freshman year. Burt believes he may have met some distant relative down south.

We learn from way down in Ponta del Este, Uruguay, S.A., that Scott and MechaPerry celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last March 15. Scott states that all of their children and many of their grandchildren were on hand for the event. This took place at their summer home. He writes, "Now that the summer season is over we will be returning to Buenos Aires." Scott's world is a little upsidedown to most of the Class. They are both well and rather hoping to come north before the year runs out.

By the time this issue reaches most of us, Andy Scarlett will be thinking about Hanover and hoping that all the rest of us will have thought of Hanover and have avoided the danger of overlooking the deadline for the Alumni Fund. The early reports show that 1910 was hitting a good pace but we always have to watch for those dark horses among the lagging ones of the early stages of the battle for funds. Don't put off making your move in this direction.

Whit and Karen Whitman had a pleasing visit with Cheever and Esther Comey while in Florida. They picked up news of the Comeys having celebrated their fiftieth in late December. Cheever has taken up residence out in the country giving up their former home.

Latest from our active sportsman, PineoJackson: "A letter from New Brunswick tells me the salmon run is on so I will be leaving for camp at the Miramachi in a few days." Pineo presented to Baker Library a book of "Poems" by Harry Blythe '07 who, if memory serves us, was editor of The Dartmouth Magazine which flourished in our time in Hanover and which carried many poetic efforts of our undergraduate contemporaries.
