ONE OF THE HIGH SPOTS OF THE DARTMOUTH CLUB of Baltimore's social season occurred December 30, when Judd McCarthy '26 sponsored a party for current undergraduates in his company offices on Loch Raven Street.
Approximately 35 persons attended, with alumni slightly outnumbering the students. All saw to it that the Old Year was ushered out on a note of happiness, and a good time was had by all.
So strong was the party's appeal that several students made the trip from the area surrounding the District of Columbia, a trip of over 30 miles. It is to be hoped that the future holds promise of equally pleasant affairs.
A disturbing note cropped up recently, however, when Malcolm Comer '44 was notified of his transfer to Pittsburgh, Pa. The move deprives the club of its chairman of the interviewing committee, an important position inasmuch as the committee processes all prospective students.
Harold B. Muecke'y '38 supplants Corner, who leaves with our best wishes.
Corner's loss is the second within a threemonth span of a leading club-member. 800Hayden '40 was the other, his departure occurring in September.
The annual Christmas party was a success. A representative number attended and exchanged presents, the gifts ranging from a toy ukelele to a shiny bottle opener and corkscrew.
Next month's meeting holds particular promise, for it is ladies' night. All wives and sweethearts are invited to this session.
