THE ANNUAL CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON, held on Saturday, December 27, at the Mid-Day Club, was an overwhelming success. There were 233 present to hear Professor Allen R. Foley give an excellent and most interesting talk entitled "The 3 H's"-the history, heritage and hopes of Dartmouth. Professor Foley, in our estimation, should be given a full time job of "selling Dartmouth" to the public. His talk was inspiring and certainly rekindled any waning Dartmouth Spirit which might have been present.

Of the total number attending the meeting 64 were applicants to the college-and also luncheon guests of the club. Many of the boys brought their fathers, which has been the custom in the past. Dr. "Bob" Stecher 'l9 was toastmaster and performed in his usual grand and witty style.

All in all it was, by far, the most successful luncheon meeting the Cleveland alumni have ever sponsored both in numbers present and in the interest shown the speaker. Our hats are off to "Morry" Hartman and his committee who engineered such a fine gathering. We might mention also that the food was good, which is somewhat unusual these days.

The next large function of the local alumni will be held on Wednesday, February 4, when we entertain Professor John Clinton Adams and Coach McLaughry for a luncheon meeting and the Annual Banquet in the evening, celebrating "Hanover Holiday."

Don't forget our weekly luncheons every Friday at noon at the Mid-Day Club.
