HANOVER HOLIDAY IN CLEVELAND
TWENTY-FOUR HOURS we will well remember—February 4, 1948—the initiation to the Cleveland alumni of "Hanover Holiday." Disregarding the fact that the New York Central is never on time, and that Professor Adams and Coach McLaughry did not arrive until almost 11 a.m., the day was a huge success.
The calendar for the day's events began with an informal luncheon held at the Mid Day Club with our guests of honor present to meet all-comers. It is amazing what Hanover local talent will do to drag out faces we haven't seen in ages.
During the afternoon the "Coach" was taken on a tour of some of the local prep and high schools to meet with the headmasters and some of the "more interesting" students. At 5 P.M., the Council on World Affairs sponsored Dr. Adams, who gave an excellent address on The Conflicts in Southeastern Europe before about 400 listeners.
The annual banquet was held at the University Club that evening to "top-off" the day. The speakers: Professor Adams and Coach McLaughry, with Bob Hage '35 adding some interesting news regarding the Hopkins Center Project and demonstrating a scale model of the proposed buildings.
Our esteemed Bob Fairbank '33— (local product ) —was toastmaster and did a fine job in spite of the heckling received from Norm Jeavons and Fletch Andrews. What happened to Hank Haserot? A list of those present follows:
