ON FEBRUARY 27, the regular monthly meeting of the Hollywood group of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Southern California was held at the Hollywood Knickerbocker. Some sixty of the faithful rallied around to hear a first-hand account of his peregrinations from the mouth of Dartmouth's own movie star—Bob Ryan '32.

Bob was introduced by M.C. Jack Rourke '40, who cast certain aspersions on the fair name and reputation of Jack Reeder '25, Disney exec., to the delight of all hands. Bob Guggenheim '33, handled all arrangements with his customary dispatch.

Leon Rothschild '24, announced that the Annual Dinner would be held on March 29, at the Acme Sequoia Lodge, where dinner and beer would be served free. Accommodations for only 120 alumni are available and these will be allotted in the order reservations are received.

Surprise guest at the luncheon was Dartmouth's famed Ail-American, Al Marsters '30, in California on a business trip.

Bob Ryan, who has been nominated for an Academy Award for the Best Supporting Role of 1947, based on his superb performance in Crossfire, gave a graphic description of his rise to stardom.

Even though Bob modestly attributes much of his progress to Lady Luck, those of us who have seen him on the screen know that he has achieved success solely because of his ability as an actor, and we predict a great future for him.
