Ordinarily plagued to distraction by the backward conditions of the famed Hanover spring, Coach Tommy Keane's golfers have overcome that pluvial handicap and had a very good season for themselves to date. They started by sweeping to a 9-0 victory over Holy Cross and followed that closely by an 8-1 decision over Brown. After that, they edged out a strong M.I.T. aggregation by a single point. By performing these heroics, the team qualified as the New England representative for the Eastern Intercollegiate Championships. The Green golfers lost to Yale, 7-2, in the semi-finals at Atlantic City and in the consolation finals dropped a close match, 5-4, to Georgetown, which had been eliminated by Penn State, eventual winners over Yale for the Eastern intercollegiate title. Captain Bill Tarlow and his mates are playing very good golf indeed this spring.

SETS NEW COLLEGE RECORD: Jim Burnham '50, who broke his own hammer-throw mark with a heave of 175 ft. 4 5/8 in. against Holy Cross and Colgate.
