The officers and executive committee of the Dartmouth Alumni Association o£ Long Island have sandwiched several group meetings and a great deal of individual effort into the summer vacation period to assure a star-studded program for the coming year.

Although this is written prior to the September 9 "Sports Nite," Frank Hall '41, chairman, has a fine program lined up and early returns from the membership indicate a large turnout. There will be movies of the grid doings of the '48 Big Green, with Eddie Chamberlain '36, assistant director of athletics, a guest of honor. Bill Cunningham '19 of the Boston Herald hopes to be down in conjunction with the Red Sox-Yankees series in New York.

Larry Hull '38 is lining up a Dartmouth Night program for October 7, probably at the Garden City Hotel. Dartmouth's Erst basketball showing on Long Island is scheduled for February 27 at the Hempstead Arena against Hofstra. The ever popular Dartmouth Glee Club will be here for a concert during their spring tour late in March. Meanwhile, something of a holiday party is being worked out for the Christmas season-more details later.

Members of the association participated in ceremonies on September 10 decorating the grave of Zachariah Greene, Class of 1781, in Hempstead during the Historical Cavalcade of the Nassau County Golden Jubilee. Greene, known as the "Fighting Parson," lived to the ripe old age of 99.

Outgoing President John Shaw and Past Presidents Carll Buhler and Rudy Preuss were presented with Tomahawks in recognition of their outstanding services to the association.
