Fourteen fine photographs—handsome cover, frontispiece portrait study, one to express each month of the Dartmouth year—are reproduced in gravure to place this year's pictorial calendar at the head of a distinguished series. The pictures, most by student prize-winners of the annual undergraduate competition restore to members of the Dartmouth family the memory of:

'... her sharp and misty mornings, The clanging bells, the crunch of feet on snow, Her sparkling noons, the crowding into Commons, The long white afternoons, the twilight glow.'
