To those who are not yet aware of it, it will come as a surprise that the Club has a new President. Hal Leich '29, who has been the first vice president, was elevated to the position left vacant when Hub Harwood '26 was recently transferred to Pittsburgh by his employers, the New York Central System, to become traffic manager of the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad.
Hub did a swell job for the Club in all the years he was down here, and we shall miss him. To both him and Hal the Club wishes all success.
Larry Reeves '33 has been elevated to first vice president of the Club, and Lowie Haas '35 has been installed as second vice president. This last maneuver was one designed really to strengthen the voting power of '35, so if any '35ers have some pet project, other than one requiring an appropriation, which they would like to have sponsored, call either Lowie or your Secretary, and we'll see what can be done.
John Pendleton '15, captain of the bowling team, is anxious to procure recruits to insure a successful season, so if you can bowl and still appreciate the thrill of at least trying to beat the other league teams, get in touch with your Secretary, and we'll do the rest.
The Club again invites newcomers-to-town, and any other Dartmouth men in the area who can't always make it, to come around to the Tuesday luncheons at the New Athens, at 12:30. Hal Leich has lined up some fine speakers and films to be shown, and in most cases those attractions alone would cost you more than the buck which the lunch costs.
So why not put the Dartmouth lunches down on your calendar and come? And bring a classmate with you. It's all informal—and you'll enjoy it.
Rob Roy Carruthers '42 has done a swell job in arranging for our Dartmouth Night Dinner at the Willard, and we are certain the results will show the effort he has expended to make it a success. You can't appreciate how much effort is involved until you've done it yourself. So let's support these programs! In the meantime, see you on Tuesdays!
Secretary, 729-15th St., N. W., Washington 5, D. C.
