Dartmouth alumni on Long Island are steadily pushing ahead to make 1949 the biggest year in the ten-year history of the Association. Plans are now well under way for the annual spring dance, to be held April 2 at the Garden City Hotel. Dan Denham '31, chairman of the ticket committee, reports an advance sale that indicates a sell-out, and RogAllen '37, dance chairman, is losing the rest of his hair trying to get additional table space. Other members of the ticket committee are: A 1 Swan '33, Art Keleher '27, Harold Macy '32, Walt Wasmer "30, Ken Rice '28, Stu May '41, Dud Day '30, Hugh McLaren '39, Fred Mayne '38, and Sam Gifford '28. Floor committee: Frank Rath '38; publicity: Frank Hall '41.

Larry Hull 38 and Doc Higgins '35 did a terrific job getting together the following men now living in the fast-growing community of Levittown: Balou '41, Halloway '42, Donovan '44, Andersen '46, Arnold '36, O'Connor '41, Fuiks '43, Tanzi '41, Maxon '40, Scott '40, Githens '46, Summers '44, Baker '41, Frisby '31, Herrick '38, Lane '43, Cross '46, Shuchter '44, Schneider '41, Larson '41, Kalaidjian '39, Bachelder '40, Curtis '39, Steel '41, Perley '43, and Hackett '36. Also from surrounding communities were Blake '40, Flouton '36, Harrington '40, Farley '44, Brekke '40, Gensel '40, Munroe '19, Price '36, Moffatt '41, Howe '24, Knowles '28, Little '31 and Carroll '48.

John Shaw, Ed Warlike, Rog Allen and Frank Hall were also on hand to explain the aims and functions of the Long Island Association. Their next meeting was scheduled for March 22, at which time arrangements were to be made for baby sitters and transportation to the April dance.

ALONG LONG ISLAND: Congratulations to BobDarbee '41 on his graduation from law school, and to Dr. Jack Kuhlke '39 on his appointment to the staff of Patchogue Hospital. JohnSchneider '40, an ex-Long Islander, is doing well up in Chester. Conn., with C. J. Bates and Sons. Wells Bates '39, his boss, used to be a frequent visitor to these parts. Carll Buhler '30 is secretly grooming his boy as a future basketball great for Dartmouth. Judge Collins '18 and Bill Coulson '18 are both making nice recoveries from recent ailments.
