Dr. Perry S. Boynton informs the secretary that his daughter has just been made a Trustee of Barnard College. Her husband, Dr. Maynard C. Wheeler, attended Dartmouth after Exeter. He is an associate Clinical professor in opthalmology at Columbia University. Dr. Perry Jr. '3l, spent 3 and a half years in Europe as a surgeon with the 12 th Evacuation Hospital Unit, mostly with Gen. Patton's army; was demobilized with the rank of major; is a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics, a member of the attending staff of Lenox Hill Hospital and on the teaching staff of the N. Y. University and Bellevue Hospital Medical Center. His wife, Dr. Mary Heiss Boynton, Wellesley '32 was the medical director of the Red Cross Blood Bank for this area all during the war. Notwithstanding she is the mother of 3 children, she still finds time to continue with the Red Cross as director of the Blood Bank for Civilians. The youngest of their children is Perry S. Boynton 111. Perry's son Carroll '32 was one of Dist. Att'y. Dewey's staff and continued with Dist. Att'y. Hogan after Dewey became governor of N. Y. until World War II erupted when he joined the navy and was assigned to special confidential duties requiring extensive travel here and overseas. He was inactivated as Lt. Commander and is now engaged in the private practice of law in N. Y. City and New Jersey. His wife Ann Heiss Boynton, sister of Perry Jr.'s wife, is an accomplished artist, mother of 2 small daughters and a leader in local enterprises that involve everything from farming activities to parent-teachers meetings. Mrs. Boynton and Perry spent some time at the Hanover Inn last summer on their way to and from the White Mountains. They are both enjoying excellent health and Perry is still in active practice.
Mrs. Henry H. Hilton writes from the Windemere East Hotel, Chicago, 111.
"My plans are uncertain. I shall probably live in Chicago in the future, near a married daughter and her family and our married son who is a lawyer here. Our son Henry Hoyt Jr. is a teacher, living in Wisconsin, and is also a writer of French text books. Our oldest daughter Katherine Leighton Hilton, was married to John H. Bradley who has written many books and been the head of the Geology Department of Southern Calif. They now live in Escondido, Calif., near their only child, a young married daughter, a Wellesley alumna. John Bradley does not teach any more but writes and lectures, see the June Atlantic. I have 4 grandchildren in or near Chicago, 2 in Calif, one in New England. It is possible that some of us may be at the Hilltop Hilton farm for a month or 2 this summer."
Mrs. Edwin J. Morrison, 182 North Broad way, Yonkers 2, N. Y. writes
"As to the Morrison Memorial Fund, it was created by me. It was Ed's great desire to leave something to the Thayer School, in which as a graduate, and at the time of his death, an overseer, he had a particular interest. Beginning with '45 I have sent $lOOO yearly towards this fund. As to myself, in spite of the toll the many years take, this little old lady finds life good. Now for the family, we had 2 children, a boy and a girl. Robert, class of 'lB, died a Lieutenant Colonel in the service. Besides a number of beautiful citations he was awarded, posthumously, the Legion of Merit. His- wife was left with 4 little children. Singlehanded she has done a splendid job bringing them up, at the same time doing her full share of the work of the community in which she lives, Scarsdale, N. Y. My daughter who lives in Worcester, Mass. is more than a home maker also. While her husband Charles Crathern, '2B, was in the service for a period of 5 years, she not only kept the home fires burning for their 3 children but carried on very successfully her husband's business. Last but not least, 2 great-grandsons on my daughter's side of the family, joined my family this past year."
