MONDAY NOON LUNCHEONTOWN CLUB-MILWAUKEE

When your secretary walked in to the weekly luncheon at the Town Club in Milwaukee this week someone remarked that it was nice to have the older generation represented too. Well anyway, I'm attending my 25th in June, and I suppose I'll have to face facts. Both chronologically and mathematically I am getting on. But don't try to estimate a man's spirit until after you have seen him in action at a Dartmouth reunion.

Sitting around the table were: EverettHokanson '32, R. G. Hayssen '42, Bill Trump '46, Skip (H. S.) French '3B, Hank Orth '27, Rog Trump '3B, R. W. Nelson '4l, Don Gates '42, Bob Niss '4O, and Vaughn G. Berry '24.

The interviewing committee reported that five of our applicants from this area have been accepted for entry next fall. Vacations were a starter for conversation—Navy retirement plans, flying, the cost of jet planes and how the flyer of today is impressed with the fact that he's sitting on a half million dollars when he takes out one of those modern contraptions. Not like the old days when he crashed a plane, dejectedly called the field, and was quickly bolstered with a reassuring "So what, it's only fifty thousand, come on back." All this makes the hour pass quickly. The hamburgers are delicious and the malteds are good too.

A picnic—at least one this summer is our goal for the next big event out this way. The weather being what it is—balmy—makes it easy to talk up a summer outing. We really should have two this year. But then we said that last year too. And the year before. I don't even remember the last time we did have two picnics in one season. However, when we do get the lead out of our—l mean, when we discard the lethargy that grips all of us some of the time—then we really do have something worthwhile. So here's looking forward to that time!
