The annual financial report of the Dartmouth Athletic Council shows a deficit of $27,590 for 1949-50. The last of the DCAC's reserve fund, amounting to approximately $12,000, was used to cover part of" the loss and the balance was provided by the Trustees from college funds.

Football income of $253,197, down $37,000 from the year before, provided most of the total receipts of $308,515. Total costs were shaved $12,000 as compared with the preceding year, but it was impossible to offset all of the drop in football revenue, occasioned mainly by bad breaks in the weather last fall.

After expenses of $92418, varsity football had a net profit of .$160,778. All other sports were in the red, although basketball had income of $15,587 and came within $2,173 of paying its own way. General expenses, including administration, equipment, field house, training room, and grounds maintenance, totaled $109,874.

The DCAC's 1949-50 deficit is the largest since 1940-41, when a net loss of $32,500 was posted.
