Thomas R. George '40 returned to the United States from France this summer for the first New York showing of his paintings. A series of watercolors and drawings made up the Ferargil Galleries show which ran from September 6 to 20. After painting portraits for a short time in New York, he returns to Paris this month with the intention of doing a series of oil paintings during the coming year.
George, the son of Rube Goldberg, studied at the Art Students League and Deerfield Academy as well as at Dartmouth. After college he worked with Raymond Loewy in the field of industrial design. From 1942 to 1945 he served in the Navy developing contour and terrain maps. Since then he has devoted himself topainting
