The chill wind blowing off Lake Ontario suddenly reminds us that autumn is here again after an all-too-short summer. While the school year gets under way in Hanover, we in Rochester are laying plans for another year full of Dartmouth activities.

Our regular luncheon meetings will be held the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Chamber of Commerce. New arrivals in town as well as long-time residents are cordially invited to join the group for a congenial time and to receive news from the College.

When the Big Green Team invades Ithaca in November to whip the Big Red Team, it will hear the Wah-hoo-wahs o£ the Rochester group which plans to go en masse to the contest by car and chartered bus. Another big event will be the concert to be presented in Rochester by the Glee Club.

Don't let all the chatter about the fall fool you into thinking that the local Dartmouths didn't get together during the summer! The Old Greens and their fillies gathered July 22 at Cedar Springs Park under clear, sunny skies for the Annual Picnic. And what a time they had—swimming and other individual sports, the stage money auction that bids fair to become a tradition, food, drink, and song! With the aid of an obviously blind umpire, the oldsters (if I may use the term) managed to squeak out a Softball win over the representatives of the younger classes. Much as we hated to see him move to New

York City to assume his new position, we are extremely pleased that our president, PaulGuibord '36, received a well-deserved promotion. All of the best to you, Paul! His mantle has been assumed by the ex-vice-president, Chester R. Berry '40, leaving that office vacant for the rest of the year.

Next month will bring news of other Dartmouth activity in Rochester. The most vital concerns the Rochester Regional Scholarship again under the direction of Harry Holmlund '24.
