The annual Dartmouth alumni dinner in Boston came on January 28, which seemed to be a bad night for '92 men to attend it. Gaf was just leaving for Florida on his usual midwinter vacation, Holland was on the way to Chicago, and B. Emerson was in Hartford. Clark, Lamprey, and Weston foregathered, however, and had a table with '90 and '91. Weston reports there was only one '91 man and two '90 men, so we got the cup for attendance at our table.
A recent number of the magazine published by the Massachusetts Horticultural Society contains a picture of Charlie Lamprey and an account of his work with aquariums and terrariums. The Society gave him a medal for promoting interest in such doings among boys and girls. Coombs wrote me in January that he
was living with his daughter at 11 Cornelius Ave., Schenectady, N. Y. He and Mrs. Combs were looking forward to being at the Reunion in June.
Speaking of the Reunion, it is going to be a great time. I wrote Geig some ten days ago to give me any news in regard to plans that might be included in these notes. He has refused to answer. I know that he, Rogers, and Cook are making very definite arrangements, and understand they are not disclosing anything so that the doings may come as a complete surprise when we get to Hanover. We know we can bank on them, and take no chances in signing up for the four days—June n, is, 13, 14.
