The St.' Louis Dartmouth Alumni Club is looking forward to the usual full season of activity, and extends through these columns a cordial invitation to any visiting Indians to attend weekly luncheon or regular meetings. (See luncheon box.) 1949 President Carl Holekamp Jr. '42 turned over the reins of the Club to the 1950 officers, E. M. Merrill Jr. '30, President; D. C. Biggs '42, Vice President; JamesJones III '38, Secretary; E. M. Curtis '36, Treasurer; and E. D. Grinnell Jr. '42, Master of the Hunt.

Annual campaign for funds for the Clark Schmidt Memorial Scholarship fund was successfully conducted during the past summer, with Jim Burns '07 winning a grand prize valued at $125.00, which he promptly and most magnanimously turned over to the benefit of the Fund.

The Summer Picnic was held at the country e tate of Earl Poe '42. Softball, swimming, eating, and shepherding of the fast-growing flock of St. Louis Chapter's kids vied for attention against the usual keg of suds. S'funny how the years alter one's interest in the flowing bowl.

The Club finds that 1950 brought the usual turnover of membership. We have lost such stalwarts as Len Sommer '47, to Memphis; DonOtis '37, to Washington, D. C.; Phil Hemphill '35, to Cincinnati; and Frank Crawford '25, to Hanover; while we have gained new members Ford Coffman '42, Tom Dempsey '49, Rumsey Ewing '42, Charles Hathaway '38, Nathan Hawks '32, John Shapleigh '44, EdSpiegel '42, Zeke Straw '48.

Ex-Prexy Carl Holekamp '42 forsook single blessedness on April 22, 1950, for the sake of Barbara E. Brown, daughter of Mott D. Brown '17, Cincinnati, Ohio. The Club threw a party for the happy couple at Bill Rench's ('34) home back in May and presented them with much assorted unlabeled (!) canned goods and other items.

Tom Curtis '32, made a highly successful campaign for Republican nomination for Congress and will join Senator Forrest Donnell, father-in-law of Boyd Rogers '35, in the coming campaign for November election. Needless to say, Tom and Senator Donnell have the full endorsement of the Club, and we are all pulling for them to win in November.

The St. Louis Club is especially proud, not only of Indian Curtis, but also of Dave Biggs '42, newly elected Vice-President of the First National Bank, Clayton, Mo.; of Morton D.May '36, newly appointed Manager of Famous, Barr & Cos. (St. Louis' leading department store and fifth largest in the United States); and of Ray Wolfe '43, newly become Athletic Director of John Burroughs School.

We learn with sincerest regret that Mr. George Logan, father of Hugh Logan '34, passed away suddenly September 6. His death deprives us of one of Dartmouth's best friends in the St. Louis area. His sympathy with our projects and helping hand in our adversities will be sorely missed, and the St. Louis Dartmouth Alumni group join Hugh and his family in grief.

On August 11 Leigh Turner '04 and son Bob '33 brought home the bacon by walking off with the Meadowbrook Father and Son golf tournament.

A GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL at the 1950 Eastern Pennsylvania Dartmouth Outing, held at Le Van's Old Mill near Kutztown. Among the 25 present were three members of the Class of 1954.
