I have received scattered news about classmates from all over, so in thinking about how to organize this column I decided to start with where the money is - The Dartmouth Doctors.

Doug Jabs has written that he finished his internship in medicine at the New York Hospital in June 1978. He is now doing a residency in opthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Clinic at Johns Hopkins. His wife Mimi is also doing an internship at New York Hospital but hers is in pediatrics. Doug and Mimi just returned from a trip to the Peoples Republic of China.

Dave Calcagni earned his M.D. at the University of Vermont, has finished his internship at the University of Rochester (Strong Memorial), and has returned to his native Vermont as an emergency room physician at the Central Vermont Hospital. I received this news from the Rutland Herald which published a news article along with a tremendous picture of Cagney - great grin, big moustache!

Dan Fuchs, after finishing near the top of his medical school class at George Washington University, is pursuing a residency in psychiatry at a hospital in Hempstead, N.Y.

Brad Little sends word that Kevin O'Shea and his wife Judy are moving to Elmira, N.Y., where Kevin is going to be the assistant district attorney. Brad explained that "rumor has it that the pimps and pushers are leaving that fair town. We all know how intolerant Kevin is of illicit sex and drugs."

Brad also reported that Doug Bates and Annie have recently moved to Beverly, Mass. "Doug is helping to market an obscure game by the name of Monopoly for Parker Brothers." And another recent Dartmouth addition to the North Shore is Tom Lane who is now living in Newburyport. I believe that Tom is working for Proctor and Gamble and I know he's an active sailor in the summer.

Finally, Brad also mentioned that Steve Stetson and his wife had a baby girl - and at the time of the '73 reunion, no less. Steve is presently an assistant football coach at Boston University.

On the wedding circuit, John Clark was recently engaged to Elizabeth Bauinger, a graduate of Trinity College.

Speaking of getting into hot water, JohnHoberg writes from La Crosse, Wise., that he is finishing his apprenticeship this year as a plumber, working for a company whose motto is, "A flush beats a full house."

Ed Friedman sends word that he has finished his Ph.D. in economics at Yale and has been appointed assistant professor of finance at the Temple University School of Business Administration in Philadelphia. However, more importantly, Ed reports that his son Danny is nearly two now and already a great athlete destined for Dartmouth."

Nicholas Miller has been named an assistant vice president of the Omega Performance Corporation in San Francisco.

Tom Sweet has been promoted to the rank of captain of the U.S. Air Force. He is now serving at Minot (N.D.) AFB as a KC-135 Stratotanker navigator.

Bill Hatch sends word that he is now a commercial loan officer at the National Bank of Lebanon. Bill was married last April to Jill Ann Johnson of Concord, N.H., who works at Mary Hitchcock as a medical technician. His best man was John Boyle, and Brian McCoy was an usher. Bill and Jill now live in Hanover.

Finally, I have recently received a letter from the international entrepreneur, John Burns. He has just returned from South America where he visited boatbuilding companys. He is in the process of establishing a partnership between one of these firms and his newly renamed company, Technology Transfer Associates. John is also planning a trip to the Sultinate of Oman in early spring as the government of that tiny kingdom has asked his services in developing its fishing industry. John, I don't know if you're making any money but you're certainly making the rest of the Class feel like provincial homebodies.

Next month I'll be back with some news about John McBratney and his Peace Corps experience in Thailand. See you then.
