This month's column is brought to you by the letter "Z". Although, I have I to say. . . most of the "Z"s I left messages for haven't returned my calls. So, if you're a Z, a letter or call would be much appreciated. The Z's I did manage to reach are MarianZischke, Wendy Zimmer, and SteveZolnay.

Marian is living in San Francisco and working at Dodge and Cox, an investment-management firm: large pension plans, three mutual funds, etc. She works on the computer systems and administration side of the world. Marian was the president of the Dartmouth Club in her area, but now she's the DED for San Francisco and Marin. For those of you less attached to the Dartmouth Club universe, a DED handles the alumni interviews with prospective students. And you should be ashamed of yourself for not knowing that. Lisa Eisenberg Merrill '85 calls me every January now to confirm that I'm too busy to join her. Just joking—l did join last year.

Marian told me that fellow Californian Christine Burnley Bucklin is still working for McKinsey (Marian thinks she has a job in California this winter) but still living in L.A. with her husband, Randy. Marian recently ran into Kathy Marshall Diekroeger. Kathy and her husband, Ken, have two boys, and Kathy is Ms. Mom fulltime and enjoying it.

Peter Garfield, who had a showing at Dartmouth during reunions, got an NEA grant. Congratulations! That's terrific news. I caught Wendy Zimmer as she walked in the door. I could hear Max 4 and Alexandra 5-1/2 in the background discussing computer software (I do not lie here). The three of them live in Hamilton, Mass. Wendy is finishing her fellowship at Mass General in radiology this year.

Wendy said she runs into Steve Bloch, who is in her program at Mass General. Wendy recently saw Sonja Chae in Chicago. She is a lawyer with the SEC.

Steve Zolnay and I communicated via answering machine and voice mail. Which is pretty darn exciting because it meant that I could get him into the "Z" column on time. Steve is living in Princeton, N.J., widi his wife and three children, Megan 6, Caitland 3, and four-month-old Stephen. Steve is one of the top salespeople for a top biotechnology company in California. Thanks for leaving the thumbnail, Steve!

Continuing to add to the ever-spiraling baby acount: Cece Hauge and Bill Crenshaw '82 had a baby girl in January. Additionally, John Pryor and Karen Rogers '83 announce the birth of their son John William Rogers Pryor on December 19. Willie was born at the new Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where his mother is a post-doctoral fellow in forensic and child psychology in the Department of Psychiatry.

One last update. Dan Adel is living in New York and has developed a successful portraiture business which is keeping him very busy. He still does illustrations for various periodicals but is really concentrating on doing portraits. You may recall that Dan won the Winter Carnival poster contest in '83.

I have to say—it's a lot harder to hit these deadlines than I thought. A note or phone call this month would certainly be appreciated. And hey, especially from you Z's.
